Le Clos Lanson is the only hectare of vineyard to remain within the historical walls of the city. This single vineyard of Chardonnay dating back to the 18th century offers a breathtaking view of the Cathedral. Located just above the House cellars, Le Clos Lanson benefits from a very pure, chalky soil and an exceptional microclimate which is favourable for the development of complex notes, giving life to a precious wine with exceptional mineral aromas.

2010

Le Clos is made from a selection of the finest Chardonnays from a single plot farmed under the biodynamic principles and certified HVE since 2019. The grapes are vinified in oak barrels from the Argonne forest during few months. The wine thus develops aromas of great finesse.

The year 2010

2010 was one of the coolest and driest years in recent decades. It wasn't until mid-August that rains combined with rising temperatures enabled the Chardonnays to ripen quickly and generously. The harvest at Le Clos took place on September 12 in glorious sunshine, and required a demanding selection process to ensure that only perfectly ripe bunches were kept. After twelve years on the lees, the Clos Lanson wines reveal a remarkable elegance and airy lightness, the hallmarks of this vintage.
