Our savoir-faire

Since 1760, our Cellar Masters have been perpetuating traditional Champagne methods, enriched with innovative approaches to preserve the Lanson style.

"Each year, my role is to play with freshness, enhancing it according to what nature offers us."

A unique palette of supply

Our vineyards cover 430 hectares, including 60 hectares of our own and 16 hectares of organic and biodynamic viticulture, with access to the best parcels from among a hundred or so Crus, half of which are Grand and Premier Crus.

High profil vinification tools

To take the precision and quality of our blends even further, Maison Lanson has redesigned its winemaking facilities. We now have four in-house presses close to the vines, a plot-by-plot winery to preserve the intrinsic qualities of each Cru, and a wooden cellar to enhance our reserve wines. This combination of tradition and modernity, combined with the talent of our Chef de Caves, produces wines of exceptional richness.

Freshness at the heart of the Lanson style

The aromatic signature of the Maison Lanson is first and foremost the fruit of a savoir-faire based on four major pillars: the meticulous selection of Crus, a traditional vinification method mainly without malolactic transformation, the richness of our reserve wines and a longer ageing time in our Cellars. As a result, Lanson Champagnes stand out for their vitality, fruitiness and inimitable freshness.

Hidden treasures in the cellar

The Lanson Cellars guarded a priceless treasure: a collection of old Vintages dating back to 1904,, which are living proof of the Maison’s history and savoir-faire. The fruit of an equally precious heritage, they form a matrix of 200 000 Vintages spanning the centuries.

Hervé Dantan

Combining a sense of heritage and expertise, our Chefs de Caves have been perpetuating a fresh, elegant style for over 260 years. On his arrival as Chef de Caves in 2013, Hervé Dantan committed himself to enriching this heritage. Adapting to the uniqueness of each harvest, he pushes the precision of our blends even further. Driven by this mission of creation and the desire to sublimate the style inherited from his predecessors, he is rethinking our vinification tools, shaping our know-how in new ways and working towards the evolution of cultivation practices. Hervé Dantan gives birth to great wines and a magnified Lanson style.
